MEET ASHLEY COUCH 

I’ve been obsessed with sofas for as long as I can remember. (My name is Couch, after all.) A childhood back injury made it impossible for me to ignore what real comfort should feel like, and that painful awareness has shaped everything I’ve made since.

I’ve spent nearly two decades creating spaces + objects meant to be lived in -- first in hospitality, then in architecture + interiors, and eventually as Global Head of Interior Design at WeWork. Along the way, I worked with manufacturers across four continents, built multi-disciplinary teams, championed independent designers + emerging brands, and helped bring thoughtful, comfortable design into the everyday lives of hundreds of thousands of people.

couchcouch is now where all of that comes together. It’s my answer to a simple question:

What if spaces + furniture felt as good as they looked -- and only got better with time?

DESIGN FOR THE LONG VIEW

Our process starts with how something will actually be lived with -- not how it photographs on day one. We prioritize comfort first, then build around adaptability, durability, and material integrity.

Every piece is designed to evolve: to move homes, shift layouts, refresh styles, and age with grace.

We’re inspired by the relaxed innovation of 1970s Italian, French + Brazilian design, when furniture became softer, more modular, and more human. That spirit guides our work today -- paired with contemporary craftsmanship, responsible production, and an emphasis on repairability over replacement.
