We proudly use American-made selvedge denim from Tuscarora Mills.

Tuscarora Mills is an independent, small-batch textile mill in Bedford, PA, dedicated to reviving American craft through natural fibers and vintage-loom weaving.

They produce heirloom-quality selvedge denim using organic cotton and hemp — no synthetic treatments, no microplastics, just honest materials and meticulous workmanship. 



We chose their denim because it has integrity you can feel. It’s the kind of fabric that develops character over time — softening, fading, and telling a story as you live with it.

Like all good denim, it only gets better with age.

The Proto Edition is our early version -- the chair that taught us what works, what to refine, and what real comfort feels like. It’s fully functional, deeply comfortable, and the very beginning of STAK’s story.

Is STAK a lounge chair or a sofa?

STAK is both. On its own, it’s an exceptionally comfortable lounge chair. When stacked or combined, it becomes a sofa, sectional, or conversation pit. We’re still perfecting a few things so we’re currently only selling it as a lounge chair. Get in touch, if you’re interested in buying multiples and connecting them. We’re almost there! (Promise.)

What makes STAK different?

STAK is lightweight, adaptable, and designed to evolve with your life and space. It’s designed for comfort first -- the kind of chair you can work in all day and melt into all night.

Where is STAK made?

Every STAK is made to order in the U.S., crafted by artisans, woodworkers, and textile mills who care deeply about what they make. Starting in late 2026, we plan to produce STAK in the EU and UK as well -- keeping production local, shipping distances short, and extra fees out of the picture.

Is STAK good for small spaces

Absolutely. STAK works as a single lounge chair, a loveseat, or a full seating system -- perfect for apartments and flexible living. Keep ‘em together when you want to cozy up, pull ‘em apart when you need a little more room.

Can I sit before I buy?

Yes! We host sitsits — casual, design-forward events where you can try STAK before you buy. Follow us on Instagram and join The Collector’s List to hear when we’ll be popping up in a city near you.

We’re also actively partnering with like-minded retail and showroom spaces in major cities, so more chances to sit are coming soon.

Is STAK flat-packed? Is it easy to move?

Yes and yes. STAK ships flat-packed and assembles in less than 5 minutes. STAK is light enough for one person to carry up a flight of stairs. And for those long distance moves, STAK can be disassembled into flat component parts to take up less space -- and then quickly reassembled in your new home.

Can I choose my fabric?

Each STAK is made just for you, and we want it to feel truly special. We release small, considered production runs -- not only because it’s efficient, but because there will only ever be a few STAKs in the world exactly like yours. Limited, in our opinion, is even better than customized.

As we grow, we’ll introduce new cushion and sling options more often, so you can update the look of your STAK almost like you would an outfit. And if you have something specific in mind? Reach out -- we’re always happy to chat. :)

Can I change the fabric or repair STAK later?

Yes. STAK is designed for easy updates, repairs, and re-covering -- so it can change as your taste and needs change. We’ll be releasing new covers and slings seasonally.

Do you accept returns?

We’re a small company and each STAK is made to order just for you. We hope STAK feels right at home with you. If it doesn’t, reach out within 2 weeks — we’re happy to help.

If a return is the right next step, it can be made at the customer’s expense and must arrive back to us in original, undamaged condition. We’ll help guide you through the process so everything goes smoothly.
